Scenic Spots in Danzhou

As China’s Outstanding Tourism City, Danzhou has rich tourism resources including a 270-kilometer coastline, numerous harbors, beaches, shallow coastal terrace. Not only Historic sites, cultural tourism resources in Danzhou are also fascinating.

The well-known Dong-po Su Academy is a national cultural relic protection site, enjoying a reputation of “The Attraction of South China”. In 1097 of Song Dynasty, the literate giant Dong-po Su had given lectures and lived in Danzhou for 3 years. The academy faces south, decorations and grand gate are classic and elegant. General Spring and Wine Pavilion are the major scenic spots if the academy.

Yunyue Lake lies close to the Nada Town of Danzhou and borders the Yangpu Economic Development Zone. 15 square kilometers around, the lake is like a brilliant sapphire inlaid in the west of Hainan Island. Thick flora carpets the earth; the water shines like a mirror; the clouds above rise to meet the moon; celestial light glistens upon the lake surface. Yunyue Lake is an ideal location for leisure and relaxation.

Thousand-year Ancient Sea Salt Field is located at Yantian Village, south of Xinyingwan Bureau of Yangpu Economic Development Zone, total area reach 500,000 square meters. With a 1200-year history, it is the oldest and most well-preserved salt extraction site in China.

Located at 18° north latitude, Shihua Karst Cave is a natural karst cave with the lowest latitude in China. According to the research of experts from China Karst Cave Association, this cave was formed 1.4 million years ago, composing cave, stone forest and tropical orchard scene. Three scenic spots of unique style are supplementary to each other, comprising a comprehensive garden for sightseeing, science research and education.
