Co-hosted by Danzhou Municipal People’s Government and Evergrande Tourism Group, Danzhou Convention & Exhibition Industry Seminar was successfully held on 24 June 2017 in Danzhou. Experts and industrial elites gathered together to discuss their proposals and suggestions regarding the future development of Ocean Flower Island and convention & exhibition industry of Danzhou.

Other guests of the seminar included former Secretary of Party Committee of China Foreign Trade Center, Chairman of China Conference & Exhibition Union Wang Zhiping, Executive Secretary-general of China Meetings Industry Convention and Vice-chairman of China Convention, Exhibition & Event Society Wang Qingdao, Bureau Chief of China Conference & Exhibition Magazine and Secretary-general of China Conference & Exhibition Union Lan Yuxin, Chairman of China Procurement Manager Association Yun Songyu, former Vice Director of Suzhou MICE Promotion Center Wang Zhangrong, Vice-chairman of Guangdong Fair Organizing Association Jiang huai, professor of Hainan University Tourism Institute Geng Songtao, Chairman of Hainan Province MICE Association Chen Fangxu and other industrial experts. Beside, representatives from Danzhou Municipal Government Office, Danzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Finance, Ocean Flower Island Convention & Exhibition Center of Evergrande Tourism Group also attended the seminar.

“At the seventh Hainan Congress of Party Representatives, it has been confirmed that Binhai New District of Danzhou would become one of the four MICE centers in Hainan,” said Director Wang Keqiang. “The future development of Convention & Exhibition industry should be supported by Ocean Flower Island. We should give priority to convention industry then develop exhibition industry, and introduce a series of innovative measures to improve policy support, talent introduction and investment attraction.

General Manager of Convention & Exhibition Center of Evergrande Tourism Group Mr. Lee Ke said, Convention & Exhibition are systematical project, thus require each part of this industry to collaborate. Ocean Flower Island Convention & Exhibition Center would integrate all industrial resources in order to facilitate the development of MICE and other related industries in Danzhou and Hainan.

Vice Mayor Tian Lixia concluded that the seventh Hainan Congress of Party Representatives had raised specific requirements for convention & exhibition industry in Danzhou, with support from Evergrande Tourism Group, Danzhou would accurate positioning, build the industrial system, improve infrastructure, introduce supportive policy, increase promotion and improve talent-development. Moreover, Danzhou would continue to further develop convention & exhibition industry of Danzhou and prepare for the opening of Ocean Flower Island.

Through the seminar, the draft of Danzhou convention & exhibition incentive policy has been fully discussed. Moreover, government, associations and companies have clarified their directions, specific roles and development approaches, all parties reached a consensus of creating a brilliant future for convention & exhibition economy of Danzhou.
